Every year during Fairtarde Fortnight, 22 February - 7 March in 2010, the Lord Provost of Edinburgh recognises the difference that our citizens and businesses make to promoting Fair Trade in Edinburgh.

You can nomimate the people that you know support Fair Trade in the following categories:
~ Best Fairtrade Award - General
~ Best Fairtrade Newcomer
~ Best Fairtrade School
~ Best Fairtrade Community
~ Best Fairtrade Faith Community

Please make your nominations by writing in 250 words or less why the organisation or individual you have chosen is making a Fair Trade difference in Edinburgh

~ More than 4500 products are certified to carry the Fairtrade Mark
~ £700m was spent on Fair Trade products in the UK in 2008
~ 72% of the UK public now recognise the FAIRTRADE Mark

Email your nominations with 'Fairtrade Awards' as the subject to:
fairtrade@edinburgh.gov.uk by 5pm 12 February 2010.
