Have you seen the recent article on the new Curriculum for Excellence (CFE)?
Read it here on bbc.co.uk
We fully support Just Trading Scotland in their push for fair trade to be included into the school curriculum. We are at a point in time where it is crucial for pupils to understand their role as a world citizen, and reflect on how their actions as consumers have an impact on the lives of others.
The new Curriculum for Excellence allows the flexibility for fair trade to be addressed in many ways and in multiple classes. This is why the One World Shop is currently working hard to support teachers and schools with a variety of services and the expertise of two qualified schools teachers. We want to improve pupils understanding that ethical trading can help to reduce poverty and injustices, and to encourage them to engage with fair trade by learning about the lives of producers in developing countries.
Please take a look at our Fair Trade Schools page for more information on how we could help your school to learn more about fair trade or contact us directly.
