Pillar candle hand painted in the light colours of an African summer - leafy green, sky blue and a light yellow.
This pillar candle has been individually hand-painted in a particular design called Ihlobo, meaning Summer. The appearance of the candle will differ slightly from that in the image as each artist has free rein to express herself within the limits of the design and colour palette.
The colours look stunning once the candle is lit - as the flame burns down the centre of the candle it creates a glow where the external painted effect is clearly visible, resulting in a beautiful "lantern" effect.
The candles are made by Nobunto, a South African Fair Trade company which employs mostly women from disadvantaged backgrounds.
Candles are non-drip and made from only the finest quality refined paraffin wax, with natural wicks and non-toxic colour pigments.
Gift packaged in recycled card box.
