A contemporary design of kelim in charcoal and white.
These traditional handloom kelims are made in India, with great skill and patience and on a fair trade basis, by a company established in 1976. Made from 80% wool and 20% cotton, the high wool content produces vibrancy and depth of colour and also allows greater detail to be incorporated into the design. The highly skilled weavers either use one of the flat looms in the weaving factory or supplement other sources of income by weaving in their own home on looms provided by the exporter. The pattern and raw materials are provided to the weavers and payment is made on collection. Dyes used are environmentally friendly "eco-dyes”.
