Necklace with cloth-covered beads in subdued colours and gold coloured ring surrounds with a pleasing antique appeal.
This complex necklace is made from cloth-covered and tiny gold-coloured beads with alternate cloth beads set into double rings of tiny gold coloured metal balls.
The bracelet is made in India by artisans from TARA Projects, a member of the World Fair Trade Organisation founded in Delhi in 1973. Their aim was to help poorly organised and struggling artisans in Delhi to find markets for their goods.
TARA now extends its work throughout Northern India and their mission is to practice fairness in production and trading activities while ensuring social equity and environmental sustainability. It funds schools for children as well as literacy centres for adults, and is constantly campaigning and educating people about fair trade.
