A lovely bright coloured cushion cover featuring the distinctive artisan embroidery of the Kathiawaldi of Gujurat. India's national bird and symbol of eternity, the peacock takes central stage on this beautifully decorated sumptuous cushion cover. Embroidery like this has decorated desert tents for centuries, and, traditionally animals are included to reflect the glory of creation all around. Finished with green piping and tassels in each corner.
Handmade in a craft maker’s society, the makers of this cushion cover will earn a decent income, and by participating in co-operatives, they have a say in who benefits from the profits. Improvement of skill and nurturing of talent is also a key proponent in the production of these goods as is a care for the environment.
